CALTANISSETTA - a lovely short or long waistcoat or sleeveless cardigan in DK-weight wool in an elegant but casual design in columns of garter stitch altering wide plaits. The textured surface gives the garment a handsome rustic look. The cables running up mid front and round the sleeve-gabs are crossed differently each side. The collar in garter st gives a nice finish to the cardigan.
The cardigan is supposed to stay open - rather wide open. Worked flat. Written pattern with charts. An enjoyable work.
Required skill level from 1 (basic) to 5 (advanced): 4.
The measurements given throughout the pattern are all in cm as well as inches.
Sizes included in the pattern: small/medium - large - xlarge - xxlarge
Yarn: this design applies for a DK-weight wool, 100 g = 250 meters. To use 500 - 600 - 700 - 800 g. For the short version to use 100 g less.

Bust: 92 cm - 103 cm - 118 cm - 132 cm (36¼" - 40½" - 46½" - 52")
Length, short model: 42 cm - 45 cm - 48 cm - 54 cm (16½" - 17¾" - 19" - 21¼")
Length, long model: 66 cm - 68 cm - 70 cm - 72 cm (26" - 26¾" - 27½" - 28¼")
The original model was made in SPORT, 100 % merino wool, from Campolmi Roberto Filati in Florence (Firenze), Italy.

Needles: No 4½ and 5 mm.
Tension/gauge in garter st: 18 sts on needles no 5 mm = 10 cm (4 in).
