Body: Work flat the back and the 2 front parts all in one work until armhole.
Cast on 138 sts on needles no 3 mm (UK 9)(US 3) with col. D. Change to col. A and knit garter st 12 rows ending with a back row. Change to needle no 3½ mm (UK 9)(US 4) and work the pattern starting with col. B. On the 1st row increase equally on the row 2 sts on each front pieces and 4 sts on the back. Mark the sides with an odd coloured wool: 36 sts for each front and 74 sts for the back. Knit stripes with col. C and D as shown on the photo.
When the work measures 15½ cm (6¼ in) cast off 3 sts on each side of the side marks for armholes and knit the back and the 2 front parts each at the time.
Back: Cast off on every 2nd row at each side for 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 2 times = 60 sts remain on the row. Continue straight up until armhole measures 11 cm (4¼ in).
Next row: cast off the middle 26 sts and knit each shoulder one at the time. Next row: cast off at neck side for 2 sts 1 time. Knit another 2 rows. Cast off remaining 15 sts for shoulder.
Knit the other shoulder likewise.
Left front: cast off for armhole as described for the back but only at the left side. Continue straight up until armhole measures 6 cm (1½ in). Cast off for neck at the right side on every 2nd row for 6 sts 1 time, 3 sts 1 time, 1 st 5 times. When the armhole has reached the height as for the back, cast off all the sts for shoulder.
Right front: knit as for the left but in reverse.
Left sleeve: cast on 30 sts on needles no 3 mm (UK 9)(US 3) with col. D. Change to col. A and knit 8 rows garter sts ending with a back row. Change to needle no 3½ mm (UK 9)(US 4) and knit stocking sts: 2 rows col. B, 1 row col. C and 1 row col. D. At the same time on the 1st row with col. B increase 2 sts equally on the row. After col. D continue only with col. A. Increase each side of the work for every 6th row until 56 sts on the row.
When the sleeve measures 24 cm (9½ in) cast off at both sides on every 2nd row for 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 7 times, 3 sts 2 times. Cast off the remaining sts.
Knit the right sleeve likewise but exchange col. A with col. B and col. B with col. A.
Make up, collar and front bands: Join the shoulders together. Knit up from the right side with col. A along the right front 50 sts using needle no 3 mm. Knit garter sts 10 rows. Cast off without tightening the edge. Knit the left front band likewise but with col. B and make 3 button holes as shown on the photo.

After 6 rows increase 1 st at each of the 4 &angles" = 4 sts more on the row. Repeat increasing on every 4th row. At the same time after 14 rows cast off in the begining of every row 1 st (5 times at each side). After 24 row cast off the remaining sts without tightening the edge. Sew in the sleeves.
